 Cinnamon




Introduction


Cinnamon is a type of spice like cloves, Cardamom. cinnamon is used as aromatic and flavoring additive for various types of cuisines like sweet,spicy, savory, breakfast, traditional dishes.it made from the bark of species of the cinnamon tree.in the market it's available in reddish-brown color with curled sticks.Cinnamon has a warm, sweet flavor and pungent aroma. The taste and scent come from cinnamaldehyde, which makes up most of the essential oil of cinnamon, but also 80 additional aromatic compounds. 


Cinnamon Native




Cinnamon is Native of India and Shri Lanka and also considered to be native to the Tenasserim Hills of Myanmar.



Cinnamon contents

Cinnamon contains traces of vitamins B and Vitamin K and the antioxidants choline, beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, beta-cryptoxanthin, lycopene, lutein, and zeaxanthin.

It also cantains other nutritional value like calcium ,iron, carbohydrates, potassium, manganese and phosphorus and Vitamin A.


Cinnamon Types


There are four types of cinnamon as per their aroma and texture


1) Cinnamon Verum

This cinnamon has various others name like are Ceylon,true and soft.it's native of India and Shri Lanka.it has soft texture.Ceylon cinnamon quills are thin, brittle, and smooth, with a single spiral that’s tan on the outside and dark red-brown on the inside. 


2) Cinnamon Burmannii

This cinnamon is also known as Korintje Cinnamon.taste is milder.native of Indonesia and southeast Asia.its very common in American Dishes.the quills are thick and red-brown on the outside and gray-brown on the  inside.






3) Cinnamon Cassia

It's also known as Chinese Cinnamon.it's native of southern china.Chinese cassia's flavour is less delicate than that of Ceylon cinnamon. Its bark is thicker, more difficult to crush, and has a rougher texture than that of Ceylon cinnamon.Cassia bark (powdered and whole) used as a flavoring agent for confectionery, desserts, pastries, and meat; it is specified in many Curries recipes.


4) Cinnamon Lourieroi

Other names are Saigon Cinnamon or Vietnamese Cinnamon.it's native of Southeast Asia.it contains highest amount of coumarin than other cinnamon typed.bark and essential oils are use for flavoring wide range of foods specially in China and Japan.


Benefits of Cinnamon


1) Cinnamon helps to protect from metabolic diseases.

9) Cinnamon is very helpful for women good health bcoz cinnamon can treat PCOS so very well so  it regulates monthly cycle.


10) Cinnamon contains antioxidants properties which helps to reduce heart diseases, Cancer type diseases.


11) Cinnamon is useful to treatment of eye disorder like conjunctivitis and dry eye.


12) Cinnamon is natural insect repellent.


13) Cinnamon contains anti-microbial properties which helps in the treatment of candidiasis.
